Why Join

There are several benefits you could reap from becoming an AACE member.  Among them, to be able to:

1. Keep up to date with the latest tools and techniques;

2. Knowing what's available out there through publications and technical sessions could help make your job easier.

3. Meet and exchange with your peers; Benefit from each others experience.  Resolve common problems and increase your knowledge. Through the Joint Cost Management Societies (JCMS) meet up with even more cost professionals.

An integral part of AACE International is its approximately 70 local sections. Each section has an elected Board of Directors and Officers who manage the section activities and finances. 

The sections offer a variety of benefits that amplify the value of AACE membership, including the ability of the member to network with peers in the vicinity, take leadership positions, advance technically, and much more. 

So if you have a local section nearby and aren't taking advantage of this resource, here's a sample of what you are missing:Most sections meet monthly from September to May and provide interesting technical speakers, an opportunity to socialize and a chance to meet cost peers in your area.Many sections have special activities to promote your professional growth, such as symposia, workshops, joint meetings with other societies, or special educational activities like scholarship programs, or programs teaching at local colleges or universities. 

All offer the potential for developing your career and resume.Section membership also adds value to your AACE membership! Membership costs to join a local section are nominal, yet entitle you to year-round discounts at local section meetings and activities.Section membership promotes your technical expertise.

 You'll find that offerings at section technical programs can be very stimulating; the side discussions and questions raised by others are often problems you need to deal with as well.As an active section member, you can help establish the direction and interests of your section!

• Only section members can vote for section officers. Your local section membership gives you the right to vote for those officers that you feel can best contribute their talents to benefit your section and AACE. Even better, you may stand for office yourself.
  
  

• Section participation helps you develop your leadership skills! As a section officer your leadership, decision making and organizational skills will be enhanced as well as your professionalism.
  
  

• Some sections even operate their own job referral network so that their unemployed members are helped to find new jobs.
