Section Meeting Held on February 15, 2006: RISK MANAGEMENT

The Montreal Section hosted a technical meeting on February 15, 2006 entitled “ Risk Management with Primavera and Pertmaster”. Over 34  attendees  from the AACEI Montreal  Section as well as PMI members enjoyed the presentation by Dan Boyd, President of Proji-controle, that highlighted the methodology as well as demonstrated features of the  Software. In addition to the main presentation two other local members, John Prizio of Hatch and Khaled Elfekfakh of SNC-Lavalin provided insights into use of the software including tips and recommendations to facilitate the risk analysis work processes as well a typical project example with probabilities compared to actual results. The meeting room facilities was provided by AACEI sponsor SNC-Lavalin.

Upcoming Events: March 2006

• Next Section meeting planned for March 29, 2006  entitled “Laval Metro Extension” by Charles Chebl, Eng.  will provide a review of this high profile project in Montreal with descriptions of the organization, facilities and photos of construction.

A survey was issued to members of the Montreal Section In February 2006 with a view to using feedback from members to provide services and meetings to fill local interests and needs.   Electronic Voting:

AACE International is offering members the the convenience ads security of electronic voting to vote for the President Elect, VP Finance,, VP Regions. To vote, simply go to the AACE International website (www.aacei.org/vote) and click on the link that will take you to the eBallot. Voting is from Feb. 15 to Mach 31^st. 

  New Publication at Annual Meeting:

AACE International will be releasing newest publication, "The Total Cost Management Framework: A Process for Applying the Skills and Knowledge of Cost Engineering" at the 2006 50^th Anniversary meeting in Las Vegas. 

 Membership Due Deadline:
