Laval Metro Extension

SPEAKER: Charles Chebl, Eng., SNC Lavalin  

The project is a 5.2 km extension of the Montreal Metro line 2 East towards Laval, the construction of three new stations including one connected with the Blainville-Montreal commuter train line, eight auxiliary structures, a garage, a workshop, an underground fire safety training center and several parking lots.  

The presentation will cover: 

• A description of the project: Organization structure, project management, schedule, layout, standards, specific requirements, urban integration, equipment, operations, etc.

• Design of the installations: The tunnels (underground and cut-and-cover), the stations, the auxiliary structures, special design standards, concrete type, specific details, etc.

• Pictures: Excavation, rock stabilization, building the tunnels and the stations, final finish work, installing the tracks, etc.
